Man Who Killed His Wife Sued by Father-in-Law

courtroomThe family of a woman who was shot to death in 2014 by her husband has filed a $1.5 million wrongful death lawsuit.

Raymond Johnson, 39, of Oregon City, Oregon, fatally shot his wife Rebekah Johnson, 32, in their driveway. He was convicted of first-degree manslaughter and unlawful use of a weapon in 2015, and is serving 23 years in prison.

The lawsuit, filed by Rebekah’s father, claims that her death has left her kids without a mother and deprived her parents of her companionship.

Husband of Akron Plane Crash Victim Files Lawsuit Against Plane’s Owner

courtroomThe husband of Diana Suriel, one of the seven passengers killed in a plane crash last year, has filed a lawsuit against the plane’s owner in a Florida court.

The Hawker 125-700 plane went down on November 10th while it was attempting to land at Akron Fulton International Airport in Summit County, Ohio. There were nine people aboard at the time, including the pilot, the co-pilot, and seven passengers; all of them were killed in the crash.

The lawsuit filed by Diana’s husband Joel Castillo said that Rais Group International, that owned the plane, as well as ExecuFlight Inc., that leased it from the owner, allowed the pilots to fly the plane with defective equipment. It further alleges that the pilots did not have proper licenses and operated the aircraft at a dangerously low altitude that made the landing difficult.

Kitsap County Superior Court Jury Awards $850,000 in Wrongful Death Case

courtroomFollowing the death of Kimberli M. Larman, 48, at Harrison Medical Center, the Kitsap County Superior Court jury has awarded $850,000 in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by her family.

According to the lawsuit, Larman died on March 12, 2009 while she was admitted at Harrison’s Bremerton hospital for a respiratory ailment. It alleged that the hospital staff did not monitor her adequately and failed to provide proper care when she was found lying unconscious near her bed.

The hospital and a physicians group admitted the liability for Larman’s death, following which, the jury awarded $300,000 each to her two sons and $250,000 to her husband.

WIDOW SUES NURSING HOME OVER HUSBAND’S DEATH

Justice on Wooden Piece Arranged by BusinessmanThe widow of Joseph P. Koucky, who died while he was admitted in MC-Hinsdale, a nursing home in Hinsdale, Illinois, has filed a wrongful death suit.

According to the lawsuit, Joseph Koucky was admitted to MC-Hinsdale in stable condition on February 6, 2014 and died on April 27, 2014 due to substandard health-care facilities.

The lawsuit claims that the deceased developed bedsores and MC-Hinsdale failed to provide adequate care and physical therapy, thus contributing to his death.

Margaret Koucky, the widow, seeks a compensation of more than $50,000 plus fees and costs of attorney.
