The family of the man who died from an infection caused after a fight outside a San Diego nightclub has filed a wrongful death lawsuit.
Conner Kepple, 21, entered into a fight with nightclub employees after he was kicked out of the club for hitting a bouncer.
He later developed fast-spreading necrotizing fasciitis in an injured leg and died about a week after the fight.
The prosecutors have said they will not file criminal charges.
According to the lawsuit, Sanchez was killed on December 27 after he hired Uber to take him and his friends home from downtown Miami. However, the Uber driver appeared to be falling asleep and was hit by another car as he took a left turn. Sanchez got trapped in the car while everyone else was able to get out before the vehicle exploded.
The family is suing Uber for failing to properly train the driver. The Uber driver, car owner, and the driver of the other car have also been named in the lawsuit.
