Wrongful Death Claim Filed Against Car Dealer after Man Dies of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Justice on Wooden Piece Arranged by BusinessmanFollowing the death of a man due to carbon monoxide poisoning, his estate administrator has filed a wrongful death claim against Autobarn Volkswagen of Countryside, Illinois.

According to the complaint filed by Kevin O’Rourke on behalf of Phillip Osborne’s estate, Osborne died in May 2015 after he took his car to Autobarn Volkswagen for repair.

The plaintiff alleges that the defendant failed to inform Osborne that his vehicle was releasing carbon monoxide into the passenger compartment, and then allowed him to travel back in the unsafe vehicle.

The plaintiff is seeking $50,000 in addition to the court costs.

Judge Rules Porsche Not at Fault in Roger Rodas, Paul Walker Crash

courtroomA judge has dismissed a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the widow of Roger Rodas, who died with the Fast and the Furious star Paul Walker in a car crash in 2013.

The lawsuit, filed by Kristine Rodas, alleged that the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT car went out of control because of a faulty part in the suspension. She also claimed that four specific defects in the car also contributed to the crash that killed Walker and Rodas.

However, U.S. District Judge Philip Gutierrez dismissed the lawsuit and ruled that the Porsche executives were not responsible for the crash, and the design defects were speculation. The ruling said, “Plaintiff has provided no competent evidence that Rodas’ death occurred as a result of any wrongdoing on the part of Defendant.

Family Sues Uber After Crash Kills 20-Year-Old Boy

The family of 20-year-old Pablo Sanchez Jr., who died as the Uber car he was travelling in crashed and exploded, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver and Uber Technologies Inc.

According to the lawsuit, Sanchez was killed on December 27 after he hired Uber to take him and his friends home from downtown Miami. However, the Uber driver appeared to be falling asleep and was hit by another car as he took a left turn. Sanchez got trapped in the car while everyone else was able to get out before the vehicle exploded.

The family is suing Uber for failing to properly train the driver. The Uber driver, car owner, and the driver of the other car have also been named in the lawsuit.

Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed against Alleged Drunk Driver after Death of Cyclist

autoFollowing the death of 51-year-old Cyclist Walter Reyes in a road accident, his family has filed a wrongful death suit against the driver of the car, that hit him.

The accident happened on January 21, 2015, when Reyes and his friend Henry Hernandez, 40, were riding their bikes along Crandon Boulevard in Key Biscayne, Florida. Police said that the car driver, identified as Alejandro Alvarez, 21, was drunk at the time of accident.

According to the victim’s daughter Jennifer Reyes, 19, “Stupid actions have tragic consequences… Driving while under the influence is something completely preventable…There are multiple options to avoid getting behind the wheel. There are no excuses.”

The lawsuit names Alejandro Alvarez and his father as defendants.
