The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit issued this opinion based on evidence that showed reckless indifference on part of Steven Julian, a fugitive recovery agent on the fugitive apprehension team, in shooting Snyder during an attempt to arrest him.

The seven-person jury affirmed the award for Snyder’s 4 children on June 24.
